weeknotes for w/c 30/06/25
what happened on the week beginning 30th june 2025?
it was super hot yet again this week. my decision to buy a filtered jug as a dedicated drinking vessel has been vindicated. frick the haters.
this update's quite short (and delayed), as I had Bruno visiting this week and had to prep for my holiday (I know, right?) to Portugal.
miscellanea
- London apparently restricts lorries at night to control noise pollution
- wrapped up Radical Tactics of the Offline Library. as it's licenced under Creative Commons, I'm considering doing an annotated version using Tufte CSS.
- there's apparently an unadvertised grace period when determining whether the journey is peak or off-peak for Oyster and contactless. the morning peak starts at 06:35, and then finishes at 09:27. the afternoon peak starts at 16:05 and finishes at 18:57.
musings
- the last codebar Queer Show and Tell was fun! I need to make something for the next one!
- Apple's Voice Isolation feature is amazing. on calls, others can't hear my kettle boiling or foil crinkling as I prep lunch
misadventures
- work was pretty uneventful this week. had my first monthly with the COO this week, and it was good!
- upgraded Plane and cal.com this week.
- took my Tuesday 1:1 with Josie on Monday, because we're were both busy
- had Bruno around this week to keep me company, and it was lovely.
- on Wednesday, we went to the Wellcome Collection with Ollie. we went to interesting exhibitions about water and zine making. after, we went to Nando's
- considering reading Information Feudalism: Who Owns the Knowledge Economy now that I've finished Radical Tactics of the Offline Library
- flew off to Portugal from London Stansted on Sunday, and the airport has gender neutral toilets which is pretty damn cool
