weeknotes for w/c 18/11/24

the people allegedly yearn for another weeknotes post, so here it is! a rather short update this week, sadly, as i didn't get up to much!

• attended the Coding Black Females mentorship kickoff on Tuesday, and met my mentee in person. i had another meeting with my mentee later in the week, where we looked at our goals again. i'm taking notes so I can reflect on and learn from the experience
• started a new with project at work, which is pretty good. i'm anxious for my probation meeting on the 6th
• my headphones got delivered to Sony's service centre on Tuesday, and i got a text from them on Wednesday. i got an invoice for £90, which is actually pretty decen
• noticed a few of my friends are getting job offers, so seems like the market is picking up slightly. that's somewhat reassuring
• made a cute little web app that annotates my laptop stickers, and tells the story of each of them! it even works on mobile on the first try 😎
• on Saturday, I travelled to Southampton to see a play my friend starred in. she did brilliantly! 💖
• played Liar’s dice on the train home, and got taught Skull on the train home by a stranger with a deck of playing cards
• refactored some of my n8n automations
• played around with some Tailscale ACLs. i broke some connections between machines, and my status page made it clear i have no clue what i’m doing
